When you have an early-February marathon on your running schedule, training just can't stop during December and January. They take some getting used to (especially the sound of them crunching on the ice and pavement) but I never once felt unsteady during my runs over icy roads and sidewalks. Easy to put on, easy to take off, and they don't seem to damage my shoes at all.
